Comedy and natural wine. It’s the combination nobody asked for until we thought of the title. Ease yourself out of dry January by joining us for the first Naturally Funny at 2 Northdown on the 1st Feb.
Saturday 1 February
with Suzi Ruffell, Ivo Graham, Sophie Duker & Ben Pope!
Curious about natural wine? Our first show will cover the basics, with wine expert Doug Wregg on hand to guide you through 3 wine tastings, each one accompanied by a set from some of our favourite comics for an afternoon of sips and giggles.
Regarded as one of best up and coming acts, Suzi won Best Club Comic at the 2019 Chortle Awards. It has been a busy few years for Suzi with four sell-out runs at the Edinburgh Festival resulting in her recording her show Keeping It Classy for Live From The BBC which was released last summer and a clip racking up over 16 million views on facebook. Her shows receive critical acclaim and have nabbed her the working-class comedy crown of her generation. Suzi has most recently appeared on Live At The Apollo, Mock The Week, Roast Battle, Ultimate Worrier, Hypothetical, 8 Out Of 10 Cats, The Comedy Bus, Stand Up Central, Harry Hill’s ClubNite and Suzi Ruffell Live From The Comedy Store.
Suzi is also a regular on BBC Radio 4 including News Quiz and The Now Show as well as co-hosting the hit podcast ‘Like Minded Friends’ with Tom Allen.
Last year also saw Suzi tour Australia as part of the Melbourne International Comedy Festival Roadshow. She is back on the road touring her brand new show Dance Like Everyone Is Watching which was in the top ten best reviewed shows of the Edinburgh Festival this year.
Apologetic Eton and Oxford alumnus Ivo started stand-up in 2009 at the age of 18, and eight months and later became the youngest ever winner of the prestigious So You Think You’re Funny award for new acts at the Edinburgh Fringe. He has become a regular fixture in the clubs and theatres of the UK circuit, with a gauche charm and crafty, self-aware wit which has proved a hit with audiences of all ages, and led to appearances on multiple TV and radio shows including Live At The Apollo, Mock The Week, Live From The BBC and Comedy Central At The Comedy Store. He is a regular writer on Fighting Talk and The Last Leg as well as several others.
His five solo stand-up shows have enjoyed sell-out runs at Edinburgh and London’s Soho Theatre, including a nomination for Best Show 2019.
As the Evening Standard put it, ‘if you like your comedy with long words and beautiful linguistic flourishes, buy a ticket immediately’.
Sophie Duker is a bombastic black sheep whose favourite things include breaking hearts, taking names and telling jokes with the confidence of a cis straight middle-class white man. Her Edinburgh Fringe Show 2019, Venus, saw her nominated for the Best Newcomer award and gained critical acclaim and five star reviews. She also runs Wacky Racists - a monthly night at 2Northdown
