Naz Osmanoglu & Phil Wang
Thursday 11 May
Star of BBC3’s Live at the Electric, winner of the Amused Moose Laugh-off Competition, Chortle Best Newcomer Nominee 2010 Naz Osmanoglu has hit the London comedy circuit running. Already a fringe veteran with acclaimed, irreverent sketch trio WitTank, he is now diverting his angry Anglo-Turkish energy to stand-up as well as sketch comedy. WitTank will be shooting a pilot of "TheSchool" forE4. Naz recently finished filming as part of the main troupe on the sixth series of Horrible Histories(CBBC) due to air next year. He also appeared in an episode of Plebs for ITV. In 2013, Naz filmed a series of shorts for BBC Online called Flat News, an idea that he is currently developing with the BBC for TV.
“He is a name to remember, however difficult that might be. Very confident, very original and tightly performed” Richard Herring
“Spirited, witty and individual... more energy than a dozen Duracell bunnies” Steve Bennett, Chortle **
“Naz is a hard gigging, high performance comedy machine”**Tommy Holgate, The Sun
Phil Wang is a son of the British Empire. But in a world suddenly intent on building walls and bolstering borders, what is a Commonwealth man to do? A blistering new hour of comedy gold – that’ s what. Phil is a laidback Eurasian stand-up comic with cerebral charm and a dorky swagger. He has been on Have I Got News For You, Live At The Apollo, 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown and the short-lived but much-loved BBC3 sit-com Top Coppers. “Certain belly laughs”★★★★ - Sunday Times “Brilliant... His technique is flawless, his observations astute”– Chortle
