Ella Woods: Wing Defence

A comedy show about sport by someone who hated it
*British Comedy Guide: Recommended Edinburgh Fringe Show 2018*
ELLA WOODS: WING DEFENCE is a comedy show about sport by someone who hated it. An audience member reviewed it as "Laughs. Netball. Reproductive Biology. Questionable cricketing. What more could you ask for?". I'd say that's about right.
Ella has been heard on BBC Radio 1, Radio 2 and 4 Extra, and has been twice nominated for BBC New Comedy Awards. She is also part of Soho Theatre’s Young Company, championing rising comedy talent, and hosts First Blood - a podcast on periods and puberty. Ella was the third Best Cricket Bowler in Sussex (Girls, Under-12s, 2000).
“Why don't more women do sport, and why doesn't women's sport get taken more seriously? A very funny hour on a great topic - there's so much relatable content here, especially for women. A beautifully structured show by the very likeable Ella Woods.” - British Comedy Guide
“Wing Defence is a joyful conglomerate of comedic brilliance... Smart quips, told by an engaging and instantly likeable comic, moments of sheer delightful silliness, and an overarching informative-ness that is quietly thought-provoking.” - HarpyMagazine.com
