Thursday 25 July
CIARAN'S SHOW IS PADRE RODOLFO: World-famous lothario, swordsman and butthead Rodolfo is back! Following an unspeakable tragedy he turns his back on his lifestyle – rejects the sword, takes a vow of chastity and joins the priesthood. But as dark forces rise he must face personal demons and battle actual demons. A supernatural action-adventure and follow-up to the 2018 smash-hit Don Rodolfo. Winner of the Edinburgh Comedy Award for Best Newcomer 2018. Nominated for Breakthrough Act at the Chortle Awards 2019. 'Comedy of the most ridiculous variety' **** (Guardian). 'The funniest show you will see this year' **** (Telegraph).
JAMES' SHOW IS THE BOXER: James' grandad, Terry Downes, became world middleweight champion in 1961. By contrast, James' school PE teacher once told him he was so unfit he'd be dead by the time he was 23. This is a story about boxing told by someone who's never boxed. His glasses would come off, for a start. Solo debut from one third of critically-acclaimed sketch act BEASTS (**** (Times), **** (Telegraph), **** (Metro)). James is also one of the stars and writers of the BBC's Horrible Histories. Directed by Edinburgh Comedy Award nominee Tom Parry.
