Now in in its 7th year, The Schadenfreude Cabaret’s Edinburgh Preview Season brings a selection of the finest acts to The Harrison throughout June and July.

The beautiful surroundings of The Basement Bar make the perfect environment to see this summer's most innovative, creative and funny shows before they head up to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

As always the line up is an eclectic mix with something for everyone. From established TV regulars and award winners to this year's hotly tipped rising stars.

The venue regularly packs out so this year you can guarantee a seat to any of our double bills for just £5 or alternatively, just show up on the night and pay what you want at the end of the show.

7th July 2018

Ed Gamble: Blizzard (preview)
After a sell-out national tour in 2017, Ed Gamble is back with another bracing flurry of idiocy. Off of BBC Two's Mock the Week, Sky's The Russell Howard Hour, Comedy Central's At the Comedy Store and Drunk History, BBC Two's The Apprentice You're Fired, Channel 4's Man Down, TBS's Conan and a short film he can't remember the name of where he killed a man from ITV's The Bill with a spade. 'This is a super show from a comic who may be about to become more of a force in the game' (Chortle.co.uk).

Mat Ewins (work in progress)
A new show from the Edinburgh Comedy Award 2017 nominee.
“Tremendous stuff” ★★★★ The Scotsman
“A declaration of independence from serious-mindedness; a hymn to doodling, daftness and the imagination unplugged. It’s a blast.” ★★★★ The Guardian
“For the record, with no usable images of Mat Ewins kicking around, we've printed the picture he sent us, which is that of Tom Glover, a west country comic he's gigged with”
★★★★ The List
★★★★ The Skinny
★★★★ The Times
★★★★ Chortle
★★★★ Fest
★★ Fringe Monkey
