A weekend of improvising musicals exclusively for women and those who identify as women.
Showstopper Weekend of Women
Saturday 21 April
Two days with the sisterhood of improvised musicals
Come work with two of Showstoppers longest-serving women Ruth Bratt and Pippa Evans,
and explore the joys of creating musicals in an all-female environment (although one of our male musicians may be involved purely as an accompanist).
We will investigate :
- song and scene creation
- how to deal with gender stereotypes we are often given
- how to break the gender stereotypes we put on ourselves
- space work - claiming the stage
- challenges we find as women in the world of improvisation
To take this course you should already have a basic understanding of musical improvisation, either through taking a
previous Showstopper course or performing regularly in a musical improvisation group.
This course is limited to 14 participants.
