This workshop is one of many run by the Nursery to create an open and supportive creative space for female-identifying improvisers of all ages and experience levels who may, for whatever reason, feel they would benefit from an all-female class environment in which to learn and play! It’s a safe place to come and be bold and fearless and meet other dynamic women from across the city.
The classes run once a month, and they are stand alone, so you can book one or come along every time. Each workshop is taught by a different teacher and focuses on a specific area of improvisation, and we have some exciting people lined up over the coming months!
This month’s workshop is with Lucy Trodd and takes place on Sunday 18th November, 2-5 pm!
Lucy Trodd is a founder member of Showstopper! The Improvised Musical (currently on tour and in The Lyric, West End). She’s been performing improvised theatre for over 12 years and has travelled the world spreading the good word of YES.
In the early days she worked extensively with legendary theatre maker Ken Campbell, including scratch performances at the Royal Court in Décor Without Production. She performed in Canada with Die Nasty in their annual Soap-a-thon (53-hour improvised play), and many subsequent UK Improvathons with Extempore Theatre.
Lucy has taught improvisation at: Guildford School of Acting, The London School of Dramatic Arts, on behalf of Showstopper. She also coached The Committee before moving to Folkestone to hang out with the Improv Gym gang.
£20, Sunday 18th November, 2-5pm. Class limited to 16 participants.
